Elissa Loock

Anxiety, Life Transitions, and LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care.

Elissa Loock believes that every person deserves a therapeutic space where they can be fully authentic without fear of judgment, shame, or having to explain who they are. She is passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate life's most meaningful transitions while fostering healing, resilience, and hope. Her work is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and the belief that growth is possible even during life's most difficult seasons.

Elissa has a special passion for serving the LGBTQIA+ community and is committed to providing affirming, inclusive, and culturally responsive care. She works with individuals exploring identity, coming out, gender affirmation, relationship concerns, family acceptance, minority stress, and the unique challenges that can accompany living authentically. She also enjoys working with same-sex and LGBTQIA+ couples, helping partners strengthen communication, rebuild trust, deepen emotional intimacy, and navigate life together through evidence-based couples therapy.

In addition to her work with the LGBTQIA+ community, Elissa supports clients facing significant life transitions, including career changes, relationship changes, divorce, parenting, caregiving responsibilities, and major life adjustments. She has a compassionate approach to helping individuals and families process grief, anticipatory grief, chronic illness, serious medical diagnoses, caregiver stress, and end-of-life concerns. She understands that grief extends far beyond the loss of a loved one and often accompanies changes in health, identity, relationships, and the future people once imagined for themselves.

Elissa's therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed care to help clients better understand their experiences, build effective coping skills, and move toward meaningful, lasting change. She believes therapy should honor each client's unique story while providing practical tools that support healing both inside and outside of the therapy room.

A Message to Clients

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, intimidating, or overwhelming, and reaching out for support is often one of the hardest first steps. You do not need to have everything figured out before beginning. You only need a willingness to start.

My hope is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported as we work through whatever has brought you here. Whether you are dealing with stress, anxiety, identity questions, relationship concerns, or simply feeling stuck, we can work together to better understand your needs and create meaningful change.

Therapy is not about being perfect or having all the answers. It is about growth, healing, and learning new ways to care for yourself. I look forward to supporting you in that process.
